Wildcat Films is one of the UK’s longest established independent production companies.

Founded in 1986, Wildcat has produced a number of critically acclaimed dramas and documentaries for BBC, C4, ITV and major Australian and US broadcasters.

In 1989 Wildcat pioneered independent broadcast news production in association with Channel 4 News. Investigative scoops included the first reports from the Himalayan War between India and Pakistan, and NASA’s discovery of ozone depletion in the Arctic.

Over the years Wildcat has worked in over 90 countries worldwide including war zones such as Bosnia, Nicaragua & Afghanistan,  and some of the world’s most remote and climatically extreme locations.

In 1997 the drama Angel Passes By was a Golden Spire winner  at the San Francisco International Film Festival. Other awards have included several from the Royal Television Society, and a Bafta & 2 Emmys for outstanding cinematography.

Since the establishment of our partner aerial filming company, work has concentrated on development of two feature length scripts, The Other Landscape and Flight.

Other current projects in 2011 include a major 3D movie collaboration with the University of Durham’s e-Science Research Institute and the Institute of Computational Cosmology.
